Do you know who Robert Kalsu is??? … He is an award winning Del City, Oklahoma athlete (football & baseball, OU football award-winning athlete and served through the ROTC from OU … Robert (Bob) Kalsu played one year with the Buffalo Bills before he was drafted into the Vietnam War.
Robert was drafted in the Vietnam War and commanded no special treatment!

There is an unveiling of his statue – March, 29th at 1:00pm at the Del City stadium along with a premiere documentary in the Dell city auditorium, on Robert KALSU called “Uncommon Character”

There are two events that day, the pinning of veterans at 10 AM- noon at the Oklahoma History Center Museum at 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive, Oklahoma City, and then starting at 1 PM (same day) is the unveiling of the statue at Del City High School of James Robert Kalsu. Gina Standridge, a member of the Midwest City-Del City Schools school board, is a founding member of the Kalsu Legacy Project to add a statue of Robert Kalsu to the school’s footbal field. Standridge is a retired educator and lifelong Del City resident. She taught for 32 years, primarily as a special education teacher at Del City High School.
Gary W. Banz spent 28 years in public education before beginning a political career. He has served 12 years in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He held several leadership positions including majority whip and chair of the Military and Veterans Affairs, House Rules, and House Ethics Committees. He wrote and produced the documentary, “Uncommon Character—the Legacy of James Rober Kaslu.”

With over 20 years of recreation experience with facilities, programs, and events both Bryan and Thomas bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to their roles. Bryan’s background is in facility management, aquatics, and events while Thomas has focused on Senior Center management and ministry throughout his career.
