Orion Whitney has been a Tennis Champ since high school and in his 50’s began his companion in the Oklahoma Senior Games. Orion was Born 1934 in Oklahoma City. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma University and was also commissioned as 2nd Lt in  1957 in the USAF – A MS in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1966 and he retired after 20 years in 1978 from the USAF career. Plus Orion received a Bronze star for his service in Vietnam in 1966. Orion has been Married to Hedi Whitney for 63 years and they have 6 children(2 sons deceased) and reside in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Wesley (Wes) Miller was born and raised on a farm in western Oklahoma (Thomas Oklahoma), Wes has pursued three careers during his life; Farming, Teaching, and the Oilfield.  Four years ago, my son-in-law saw me run/walk a 5K and offered to be my coach.  I did an indoor triathlon series and was hooked.

Bobbie Diffee-Gunn is not only my fabulous mom—she’s also my biggest supporter! Mom and her twin sister were born in 1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas, and her parents later moved the family to Bethany, Oklahoma. There my grandfather, John Diffee, opened the Diffee Motor Company—still a well-known auto dealership in El Reno today.
Mom always says she married the love of her life, Gordon Gunn. They married in 1955 and moved to Ada, Oklahoma, where my three brothers and I were born and raised.My Dad (my Mom’s Husband of 62 Years) was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s in 2007. This Show is dedicated to my Dad and family caregivers everywhere, we will inform you and help you as you navigate the road as a family caregiver.

Meet my youngest brother, Nathan Gunn—and his wife Sally Gunn Presidents and Co-Founders of Jesus Booth Ministries, an Oklahoma City-based mission organization.

Nathan & Sally has spent the last 30 years ministering in Los Angeles, Texas, Oklahoma, New York, Africa, India, and the United Kingdom. Now he spends most of the week ministering to people right here in Oklahoma City—on downtown streets and at the bus station. Nathan works on building relationships, praying for and meeting people’s immediate needs, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and Sally does all the administrative work . You can follow Nathan’s missionary work on Facebook at Jesus Booth Ministries. Danny Eischen –For the past 11 years, Danny Eischen has served as the Chief Operating Officer/Executive Director for Concordia Life Plan Community. Danny holds a Master’s of Gerontology from UCO and has worked in Senior Living for the past 24 years. He also serves on the board for LeadingAge Oklahoma and VillagesOKC.

 

Chris Coleman –Christopher Coleman is Concordia’s Wellness Coordinator, Personal trainer and Group instructor. Christopher graduated from Averett University in Danville, Virginia. He completed his internship and training under certified Physical and Occupational therapists. His goal is to reduce falls and empower older adults through teaching better movement.

 

Megan Carter –Megan is Concordia Lifestyles and Transportation Director. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Health Education and Promotion. Megan has worked for Concordia for 8 years and started as an Intern. Megan was honored as the Leading Age Oklahoma ‘Outstanding Employee for Resident Services of the Year’ in 2014. She also coordinates Concordia’s Wellness on Wheels Program.

Terri Hayworth grew up in a household with 4 older brothers and had mile-long competitivstreak.  Thus was born her life-long love for an active lifestyle. After her last match as a competitive wrestler (Yes, you just read that right) and raising 5 children, Terri decided she wanted to get back onto the podium, this time as a triathlete. Competing in this year’s Oklahoma Senior Games! 

 

Scott Surface, Oklahoma Police Officer, Shift Captain & Department Administrative Officer. Scott is an Oklahoma Police Officer that is working on his second retirement now. He is new to the Senior Games competing in track & field for the first-time last year 2018 at the Oklahoma Senior Games and then competing in his first National Games this past June 2019 in Albuquerque, NM.

He frequently writes and speaks on Elder Law, Appellate Law, and ethical issues related to those fields.

 

Melissa Brooks is an embedded staff attorney specializing in elder law for victims of crime at Sunbeam Family Services. She also serves as the chairperson for Oklahoma City Coalition Against Fraud and Exploitation of the Elderly and a co-coordinator for the Oklahoma City metro area pro-bono events in addition to giving community presentations on topics related to elder law.

Lora Malone is currently the Executive Director of the Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation.  She has served in this role since June, 2017.  She is responsible for the overseeing the day-to-day operations of the foundation, she works with the volunteers and board of directors to accomplish the Foundation’s goals.  She works to collaborate with others in the community to increase and maintain the foundation’s visibility. Before coming to Foundation, Lora served as the Vice President of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association, President of the UT Arlington Alumni Association, and served Oklahoma City University as the Principal Gift Officer. Lora and her husband, Gallen, have one daughter, Reagan and currently reside in Edmond, Oklahoma.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Blanco provides oversight of the company’s seven sites including Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman and Stillwater, Oklahoma; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Colorado Springs and Denver Colorado.

 

Dr. William Schnitz is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and is a Principal Investigator with the Lynn Health Science Institute in Oklahoma City. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where he also completed his residency and fellowship.
