Northwest Oklahoma Christian Women’s Group Luncheon- MEETS THE THIRD WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH – noon – 1:30pm. $19. Reservations required

If you RSVP and can not come please cancel or the organization will have to pay for your lunch. This is a charitable organization that is raising funds to fight human trafficking. This is open to the General Public as well as professionals that love or work with the 50-Plus but all ages are welcome.
Coffee and Creativity presented by the Alzheimer’s Associaton. First Monday of every month 10-11:30 a.m. In conjunction with Edmond Fine Arts Institute Adults with dementia engage in a special class led by art therapists while caregivers relax over coffee provided by Edmond’s Café Evoke. Anyone interested in attending these events to please RSVP to 800-272-3900.
Alzheimer’s Association Support Groups statewide for caregivers of Alzheimer’s and dementia. These are at various times, dates and locations. Check to see if there is a group close to you that fits your needs. Support Groups an be a huge help to families and includes topics such as these upcoming in OKC:

Oklahoma Legal Guide To Long-Term Care The Senior Law Resource Center has published the Oklahoma Legal Guide To Long-Term Care by Catheryn Koss, JD. This 223-page book covers how to access and how to pay for home health care, assisted living, and nursing home care. Topics include Medicare, Medicaid, VA Aid & Attendance, long-term care insurance, hiring a home health aide, residents’ rights, and more. The materials refer specifically to Oklahoma law and provide numerous references to local agencies and organizations. The book provides practical and straight-forward information for elders, caregivers, and professionals to help them understand their long-term care options. FREE Senior (50-Plus) Computer Classes at Oklahoma City University through the Intergenerational Computer Center (ICC) – Free training to the general public (Especially the 50-Plus) are invited to freely use their walk-in lab with Windows desktops as well as Windows and Mac laptops. The computers offer a wide variety of software applications, such as Rosetta Stone, Microsoft Office, Typing Tutor, and Photoshop. Movie and photo editing are offered at NO COST to participants. In addition, the ICC’s mobile van will travel to senior homes of the Oklahoma Housing Authority, and two senior centers of OKC Parks and Recreation. Continuing Education Classes for Seniors are available through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Oklahoma State University. [email protected] is a program of educational courses for people who want to enrich their lives through new learning experiences. Courses on a variety of topics are offered each semester to retirees and other adults in the community. Instructors are qualified volunteers from various career backgrounds, including academia, business, the arts, and government.

The goal is to educate senior citizens on crimes directed at their age group and how to prevent becoming a victim. Open to the public, these are informative meetings, please attend one to see! The Pet Food Pantry of Oklahoma City provides low-income senior citizens, veterans & the homeless with supplemental pet food on a monthly basis. Our mission is to provide food for these pets while helping keep food on the table for their owners. We are dedicated to reducing hunger in pets and the people who love them by providing pet food and pet services to low-income pet owners.
