Guests in the OSJ Radio Studio: (l to r) Janet Deen with Hope Retreat Ranch and Becky Ivins of Movers Real Estate
Becky Ivins started her professional career as a social worker. A few years later she became a Realtor and shortly afterwards started her own brokerage. After selling real estate for 40 years, Becky still considers herself more a social worker than a salesperson. Web: beckyivins.com
She has many favorite charities, the one we are talking about today is Hope Retreat Ranch.
Janet Deen and her Husband Walter have been married 43 years and live in Choctaw. Walter Deen, always a horseman, has embraced the challenge of bringing therapeutic horseback riding to their community. The Deens purchased 32 acres in Choctaw where they operate a non-profit retreat for various clubs and charities to use. They currently have 11 horses and use only volunteers to operate the ranch. Walter and Janet plan to spend their remaining years further developing Hope Retreat Ranch, LLC, a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
HR Ranch is a horse ranch in Choctaw where non-profit groups can gather and enjoy a safe and controlled venue for their activities and where therapist can bring clients to pet or ride horses. HR Ranch has served many populations including scouts, schools, and the downs syndrome society. Plans are process for the clients of the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled to enjoy a day at HR Ranch. hrranch.org
