Buddy Holly and The Legends of Rock ‘n Roll is a tribute act to Buddy, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper. This year is the 60th anniversary of the plane crash that caused us to lose these legends. Starting in 2013 as a theatrical production of ” The Buddy Holly Story,” this show basically recreates the Winter Dance Party show in 1959.

Jim Paul Blair has been playing in bands since he was 13 years old.  Growing up on Western Swing, he began playing bluegrass in college, working with Garth Brooks during his Oklahoma State University  Days in the early 1980’s. He spent 10 years in Nashville, working the festival circuit before settling back in NE Oklahoma.   Jim ventured into theatre in 2009, winning the Muskogee Little Theatre Actor of the Year for his portrayal of Hank Williams in Lost Highway, and again in 2013 for his portrayal of Buddy Holly. Jim serves on the board of directors of the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival and also as host of Oklahoma Music Shop.  JIM BLAIR & Angelina Ocummings (Blond & Vocalist and plays Buddy Holly’s wife in the Buddy Holly and legends of rock ‘n’ roll show).

Melissa Monroe Is the manager and operator of The Auditorium at the Douglass. She in charge of bookings as well as setting a path for future growth of The Auditorium.  She has been in this role only 15 months and is trying to forge a path for bringing the arts to the Innovation District in OKC – which focuses on science and math. Many see a connection between artistry and those sciences.

Angelina  Ocummings is an amazing vocalist and plays Buddy Holly’s wife in the Buddy Holly and legends of rock ‘n’ roll show.
