Stress comes in many different forms from many different causes. According to the American Institute of Stress, about three-quarters of those surveyed regularly experience physical and psychological symptoms caused by stress. Nearly half of respondents reported lying awake at night due to stress.
In some instances, stress can be a good thing. It can help you perform well at a task or help your body kick into gear when faced with danger. However, chronic or long-term stress can have harmful effects on your overall health if not managed properly.
Join Britane D. Outlaw, MS, LPC, CLCP, CCM from Norman Regional’s Senior Counseling Center to learn more about the links between stress and your health and to learn practical tips to cope and decrease your own stress levels.
All seminars are FREE and do not require registration.
