GIVE HOPE RESTORE DIGNITY Support Sunbeams Emergency Shelter

February 20 @ 12:00 am - March 31 @ 12:00 am

In the Oklahoma City metro-area, more than 1,100 of our neighbors are homeless. In partnership with donors like you, Sunbeam Family Services is working to end senior homelessness through our Emergency Senior Shelter, the state’s only shelter equipped to assist homeless seniors aged 60 and older.

Your help is needed now. We anticipate a shortage of $65,000 in funding to support homeless seniors through our Emergency Senior Shelter. With your help, we can continue to provide life changing services for seniors like Lon, a recent resident of the Emergency Senior Shelter who had nowhere to go.

Through Sunbeam’s wraparound services, Lon worked with a supportive case manager, completed counseling sessions and at the end of his stay with Sunbeam, Lon was a new man with a positive outlook on life. “Sunbeam became my family and helped me deal with my grief and today I have a place of my own to call home.”

to provide hope and restore dignity for our Oklahoma seniors.

Each year between 90 – 110 homeless seniors seek safety in the Emergency Senior Shelter, many of whom are without a family support system and have a limited monthly income.

  •  Sunbeam’s Senior Shelter serves a high number of veterans, representing 35% of residents served.
  • Thanks to donors like you, the Emergency Senior Shelter has a 94% success rate in homeless seniors in obtaining a safe, permanent home to call their own.
  • The Emergency Senior Shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is supported by therapists from Sunbeam’s Counseling program.
  • While residents are our guests at the Emergency Senior Shelter, they receive home-cooked meals, welcoming environment and comprehensive case management

With your support, Sunbeam is able to help Oklahoman’s like Lon. Your donation gives hope to our Oklahoma senior neighbors and restores their dignity. Please consider making an investment in our seniors by helping close the $65,000 gap.

P.S. Your compassion is needed more than ever to close the $65,000 gap for the Senior Emergency Shelter. With your continued partnership, homeless seniors will find safety and support at the Senior Emergency Shelter – and beyond.
