Gingerbread House Competition

This event will become a true Holiday Tradition for the very young and the very young at heart! The contest is open to all residents, staff, families and the community!!! Everyone is welcome to participate. Houses will be on display in the Grand Lobby throught the Holiday Season.
RULES (APPLIES TO ALL DIVISIONS):
1. Any structure – real or imaginary – is eligible for entry.
2. Entry must be original – no gingerbread kits allowed.
3. Entry must have all MAJOR components, such as walls and roofs.
4. All components must be edible. For example, all foil or plastic wrapped candies must be unwrapped; lollipops cannot have paper or plastic stems. NO perishable food items can be used in the making of an entry.
5. You may add electric lighting to your entry.
6. Entry must have been constructed in 2017.
7. All entries will be judged on Originality, Overall Appearance, Choice and Use of Materials and Difficulty of Design.
8. Entries must be freestanding and attached to a plywood base measuring no bigger than 24″ L x 18″ W. Entries cannot exceed 26″ in height. The plywood base must be completely concealed with an edible product; however, the sides of the base do not have to be concealed.
9. Structure must be the dominate feature of the entry. Structure must be no smaller than 7″ in height by 8″ wide.
10. All entries must be delivered to Epworth Villa in completed form on Thursday, November 30, 2017 between the hours of noon and 4 pm.
11. The entries will be displayed from Thursday, November 30th to Friday, December 22, 2017. Judging will take place on December 11 at 4 pm.
12. Epworth Villa reserves the right not to display an entry, if the entry is not considered of show quality.
13. In order to be eligible for awards, an entry may not be picked up before 4 pm on Friday, December 22, 2017.
