of Sarge, The Veteran’s Best Friend by Dr. John Otto (Veterinarian) & Payton Otto (Dr Otto’s son) and illustration by Charlotte Strickland.

Sarge has been a companion for 6 years to our Veterans at the VA Center in Norman, where my precious Dad (Gordon Gunn) has been for the last four years with advanced Alzheimer’s.

Sarge (a rescue) was trained at the Prison Dog Training and Prisoner Program in Lexington Correctional Facility,  called “Friends for Folks” a Save a Prisoner & a Dogs Life program that Dr. Otto brought to Oklahoma and is the Official Volunteer Veterinarian for the Friends For Folks Program.

Where: The VA Center in Norman Oklahoma at 1776 N. Robinson

When: Friday, August 10th @ 2pm in the Main Recreation Center, 1st Floor.
Light refreshments will be served.
