We have a two-in-one show on Saturday at 9:05 a.m. on Oklahoma Talk radio Freedom 96.9 FM. One topic we’ll be discussing is Senior Day at the State Capitol, taking place on March 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The second topic will focus on tax credits for caregivers. Rebekah Williams, Ombudsman for the State of Oklahoma, will be speaking about Senior Day at the State Capitol. Joy McGill, who serves as AARP Oklahoma’s Advocacy Director, will be speaking about the tax credit for caregivers.

Senior Day Questions

  • How is the aging population growing in Oklahoma?
  • What is the importance of Senior Day at the Capitol?
  • How can we, as a community, support the aging population?
  • What programs or agencies will be present at Senior Day, and what can people expect?
  • Why and how should people contact their legislators?

Tax Credit Questions

  • What is Oklahoma’s Family Caregiver Tax Credit?
  • What are the most important updates this bill would make?
  • From a budget perspective, supporters say HB 4118 is fiscally responsible and does not increase costs to the state. How does the bill maintain those safeguards?
  • Looking ahead, what are the next steps for HB 4118 in the Legislature, and how can listeners get involved if they want to support the modernization of the caregiver tax credit?
